Candidate’s Position Paper
As a candidate for Kiwanis International Trustee I submit this position paper to allow potential delegates to the convention a greater insight into my thoughts and goals for Kiwanis International as an organization.
Kiwanis International states that “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.” Further on their website they indicate that Kiwanians are “Ordinary people performing extraordinary work.” While these are well formed phrases what exactly do they mean and how are they achieved.
The current administration of Kiwanis continues in the organizations quest to reach 1,000,000 members by the year 2015. Certain areas have been highlighted by the administration in achieving the growth necessary to turn this goal into a reality.
•Membership Orientation
•Service to the community and the children
•Relevant Clubs
•Diversity
•Fun
•Closing the back door
•Service Leadership Programs
•Alternative Membership Options through E clubs, Satellite clubs and Corporate memberships
•Balance of efforts to build new Kiwanis clubs and assist established Kiwanis Clubs
The current group of Kiwanis leaders is embracing a multi year approach in attacking these concerns. This should reduce any confusion at the club level as to what Kiwanis International has set forth for goals and expectations.
I would now like to begin to address these areas of concern individually:
